Dedication to Dennis Coslett.
Commandant Free Wales Army 1963 - 1969.

Died 20 - 5 - 2004.

In these times disparagement or doubt is often cast on existence of a ''Gwerin'', that is the ''common folk'' who are most ''uncommon people'' by their nature and action. However, one had only to be in the company of Dennis to be left in absolutely no doubt that he was one of the ''Gwerin'' and of the ''Gwerin''. The last time I saw Dennis he was ill in hospital but the time shortly before that I called at his home and Dennis and I retreated to his den, where we reminisced and Dennis read me his poetry. Cayo told me folk tales and Dennis read me poetry, they were both men I was proud to have known, served with and been imprisoned with. They were giants upon whose shoulders in time others will stand on, many may endeavor but few will succeed to do it so well and bravely as did Commandants Cayo and Dennis Coslett, Commandant Free Wales Army.

Dennis was not just of the ''Gwerin'', like Cayo, Viv and other Patriots I have known they were of the ''Gwerin Owain''. They were indeed of that stock of men the English had with contempt referred to as ''Bare Foot Welsh Doggis'' but whom in just four years of war would teach the English an hard lesson, and have them on the run. That's why this year we commemorate 1404 as a year of Independence. Dennis and Cayo were of that ''Gwerin Owain'' tradition that fought on after 1416, as ''outlaw rebels'' from their woodland retreats and 'rhag gaerau' in the mountains. The same ''Gwerin Owain'' who during the 16th century ''land war'' resisted the Tudor turncoat Anglo - Welsh Gentry with the cry of ''Trech Gwlad Nag Arglwydd''. Dennis and Cayo are of the breed of men who were with the ''Hosts of Rebecca'' and of the ''Tarw Scotch'', this was the tradition that the Free Wales Army arose from, the tradition of the ''Gwerin Owain'' and of continuing popular resistance not the tradition of ''Crachach Collaboration'' that arises out of the ''betrayals in the belfry of Bangor". Now tragically in this year of 2004 Dennis has been taken from us but hence fourth let not a year pass without great patriotic commemoration* of Denis Coslet, Commandant Free Wales Army.

To conclude much has been said about the Free Wales Army - for the most part also doubting and disparaging particularly, as often as not said by our own 'Crachach Collaborators' and other ''Quislings''. So I remind you of the two braveheart lovers Gruffydd ap Rhys and Gwenllian who upon rising in revolt from the woods of Cwmwd Caio were immediately called ''imbeciles'' and ''rascals'' by the 'Cymric Collaborators' who were cosying up to the Normans. Such derogative words would echo down the centuries to be thrown at the F.W.A. by the same breed of traitors. Well better to be an ''imbecile'' and ''rascal'' in rebellion than being of the treacherous kind that would surrender and sell out for the ''Saxon Shilling'' and still do so, but now as vices they desguise as various virtues of nessessity for their survival and selfish self interests. Such vices unknown to Dennis Coslett, Commandant Free Wales Army.

Dennis Coslett was never a man to surrender Denis Coslett Patriot, poet and folk hero. Dennis Coslett Commandant Free Wales Army.
We salute you!
Fe Godwn ni Eto.
