ROUND BALL OR OVAL BALL? The Great Debate!
It's that time of year when I start to usually rant on about those awful WRU 'Three Feathers' but, guess what? I am starting to bore myself on this issue. I am finding it hard to sustain the commitment to continue campaigning against this abomination any more, perhaps Adam Phillips of Balchder Cymru is right when he suggests the Welsh should just adopt it.
.
.
I did counter Adam on this by simply pointing out that the problem was, that the Welsh had in fact adopted it as far back as 1715 officially and unofficially in 1415 at the Battle of Azincourt. However, I guess Adam was kind of making the point, that we could turn it to our advantage somehow? However, that line of reasoning makes me think, that somehow I cannot see Jews adopting the Swastika to have one up on the BNP, kind of thing! Whatever, the point is, the death of Ray Gravelle made me ponder on Rugby and do some research via Google, coming up with an interesting article on the subject which you will find a link to via http://cofcenedl.blogspot.com/ This led me to consider.........................................

.TIME FOR TINA TO KICK THE OVAL BALL INTO TOUCH.....

So what then?
Maybe revive 'Cnapan', that was tried a few years back in Penfro but came unstuck with H&S issues and Insurance requirements. The world of Re-enactment is also being hit in similar ways, causing a bit of a crisis for the smaller Re-enactor Groups. However, maybe 'Bando' a traditional Welsh Game more akin to Irish Hurling is the answer as this could be better organised to meet H&S issues and lessen the Insurance and threat of Compensation Lawyers. In the mean time, for more on Bando, my Pwca Patriot Hero as illustrated opposite pop over to PWCA POWER http://pwcapower.blogspot.com/ Other than this, perhaps 'Adfywiadwyr Gwladgarol ' should bury Rugby and turn on to football, at least the Welsh National Football team sport a Red Dragon. I actually see more Baneri Dewi Sant and Baneri Glyndwr at football matches than at Rugby games.
