This ''Anglican'' Saint David's Cross is now used by the British National Party, has seen in their Assembly TV Election address. The Welsh Christian Party, who wants to use it as a National Flag, instead of Y Ddraig Goch which I also want to see got shot of, and replaced by 'Baner Glyndwr'. This 'Baner Dewi' is also used by Cardiff Football Club and of Course M.H.O.S.D aka ''Knights of Saint David'' and heavilly promoted along with ''Cilts Cymraeg'' by the Welsh Tartan Centre and Cambria Magazine - sponsors of the annual 'Dydd Dewi Day' parade in Caerdydd.
Time for true radical patriots to ditch this ''Yellow Cross'', the badge of REDEMPTION which the poor Cathars were forced to wear as a sign of their REDEMPTION, of course on pain of imprisonment, torture and eventual possible burning at the stake if failing to turn away from their faith and redeem themselves. Read all about the the terror brought to the Languedoc by the Northern Christian Crusaders, in a number of good books on the subject of the Crusades against the Cathars but why not start with, the book illustrated below:

I say out with the 'Yellow Cross' and in with the ''Celtic Cross'' , yes! If ''Nationalists'' must have need to show their patriotism by waving ''Christian Cros'' flags from time to time, then at least make it a ''Celtic Cross'' and not that 'Yellow Cross' with all it's ambiguous meanings and messages. . However, I am no big fan of that old 'Augustine Mysoginist' Dewi Sant, so as far as I am concerned, I see the 'Baneri Croes Celtiaidd' as symbolic of our stolen Croes Naid, and thus representing the campaign for the return of all our national treasures taken from our land by English Conquoror and Colonialist. Others, see this flag as 'Baner Brwydr Llywelyn II', I also think that is a very good idea too, I'll go along with that, and have some further suggestions.
The Celtic Cross Flag shown here, painted Gold Cross on Purple background was one of the last flags made by Toni before his death on 8 November 2005. Upon his death, a number of his flags were left to me, and I decided to pass them on to patriots that I considered were comrades and friends of Toni. This particular flag I passed on to 'Balchder Cymru', no matter what I may think of that ''body'', I cannot ignore the fact that they made respectful tribute to Toni at Cilmeri 2005, to mark his death. Thus, I felt it appropriate they be recipients of one of Toni's flags, and in picture below we see members of 'The 18' exhibiting the flag. It is they who give this flag the name of 'Baner Brwydr Llywelyn' Excellent!
Patriots note, the picture above has been placed on the 'Flags of the World' web site with information that it is being called 'Llywelyn's Battle Flag'. It is also symbolically pertinent, because Llywelyn was wearing a piece of the ''true cross'' on the 11th December 1282, it was taken from his body, records say that much. However, for most of the time it was kept in a requilary (Alter Cross),in a small compartment. This requilary was kept, I believe set up on the Alter of Bangor Cathedral? but when Llywelyn went to war, this requilary was taken with them in the possession of Llywelyn's Chaplin (killed with him at Aberedw) and monks, with ''The 18'' as the ''Guardian Knights of the Croes Naid''.

I suggest you keep the propsed event below under the annual authoriy of ''The 18'' for all time. I imagine on morning of the 11th December after making camp at Rhosferig on the 10th December. Llywelyn before setting off for Aberedw might have had the requilary brought to him, before his gathered army at Rhosferig, I then imagine that after some ceremony, in which the requilary would have been held up before the soldiers (possibly on a shield/face down), so they could kneel before it and say prayers for victory etc. I imagine then that Llywelyn's chaplin would have taken out the ''true cross - piece of wood'' out of the requilary, it was set in a jewelled pendant and hung around Llywelyn's neck. I imagine then that Llywelyn would have made a rousing speech to his soldiers, then headed off to Aberedew. All aforementioned in mind, provides basis for an annual ''historical themed'' ceremony at Rhosferig, re-enacting the above, but in ''symbolic form'' by rising up of 'Baner Croes Naid' (Battle Flag/Gold Cross on Purple) to represent the cross requilary noted above. I suggest patriots gather abouut 11:00 am at Llanganten church, walk to Rhosferig for above ceremony, rise the flag, short historical talk on meaning of this little event, and one honarary speech, then walk to Parc ar Irfon to lay wreaths at site of massacre at 12 noon. Then back to Tafarn Llywelyn for dinner.
.
You do not need a crowd to do this, as in main it is a symboic gesture as prologue to main event, plus of course provides a proper alternative to the historically wrong Llanynys church event, . If anyone is interested in organising such, let me know and I will note in Cilmeri 2007 promotional material. It should look pretty good as prologue with then, the babtisms as epilogue to a day of commemoration?
.
I am already making a load of new flags, it's not too difficult. Note use thin white rayon cloth, the design drawn on one side will appear the other side, as will some of the other paint (need to be turned and touched up though, I use a plastic table cloth as base to print flags on, ink does not stick even if it goes through completly to other side.) Hope that's useful, toward an even more colourful Cilmeri and other Commemorative Rallies being held this year or in future times? See below various variations of this 'Celtic Cross Flag.

Celtic Cross Flag.
Other versions below are:
* Yellow Cross on Green 'Official Nationalist' Version, up for claiming.
* Red Cross on Green 'Alternative Nationalist' Version, up for claiming.
* The 'Yellow Celtic Cross of Dewi Sant' for those who associate to Christianity?

* The General Use by every one 'Patriotic Version'.

OK! Get making some flags, you useless no goods! It's not all that difficult you know? Now that Toni is dead we will soon run out of flags, if patriots do not buckle down to making some. In 'Flag Making' appeals over these latter years, the only patriots to bother making flags are 'Balchder Cymru'. Why am I slagging them off all the time? Forgive me! Balchder come back, all is forgiven? Anyway, lets see just how many of you will bother to make some flags by Cilmeri 2007? and Dydd Dewi Parades on 1 March 2008? C'mon people, a few dozen of these are really going to make rallies and parades really colourfully impressive.
Gethin 'Iestyn' Gruffydd.
