Druids Against Devolution aka Pagan Pass Times Revived..
PAGAN POSTING.Picture here is of the full moon of Imbolg 2007, taken as it arose to the east on the 2 February at fire festival of Brighad, Celtic Goddess of Creativity, Birth and amongst much else, brewing also. I was using a ''bog standard' digital Camera, with tree in foreground, when enlarged in Photo suite, it turned out like this. Mystical? Photo below are Snowdrops, the flower of spring and of the Celtic Goddess Brighad. (Note the Celtic womens cult of 'Briga' = ''The Power'', the opposite to the Saxon Wicca aka ''Witchcraft''.)

However, to begin near enough at the beginning, we can do no better that seek further information and knowledge of the Ancient Religion of Babylon, yes Iraq and so quite relevent. Sadly with the war going on, both the ''Crusading West'' and ''Militant Islam'' are both destroying a wonderfull heritage. It's not just Oil that is leaking into the Western World but also Iraq's great heritage of Antiqities, being sold off on the black market by the ''Islamist Terrorists'' to finnance their murder machine. We will never know, just how much damage American bombers and bullets have done to the archaelogical remains of Iraqs Ancient civilization. See pictures below of Ishtar, the ancient Babylonian Goddess of war - the Morning Star of war, also in her ''alter - ego'' as Goddess of Love - the Evening star. In both cases that star is the planet Venus, the brightest of stars and usually seen close to the moon at night and in the morning. I am quite into all this and when ever possible visit the 'Babylonian Room at the British Museum, the stuff they have there on display is fantastic. Ancient Babylon has also of course produced the greatest of heroic epics, it is said it is the basis of all ''Heroic Epics'': The Epic of Gilgamesh. Do read it ok!

The next great religious leap, is into Egypt to meet up with many Gods and Goddesses, but best Goddess of all, is of course Isis. What can I say, that is not better said on any number of websites, just do a search for ISIS.

Following on Egypt, you may leap into the familier territory of the Old and New Testament, check out the Isrealites war to occupy Cannan (Palestine), if you want to know where ''God on our side'' comes from. Great example of religious rationalisation of war and any military means justifies the end, you might think that it's great to make much of war being an holy religious war. This will take you into the ''Christian crusades'' but do not think they were just against the Muslims in the ''holy land''. No! check out also the Crusades against the Pagan Balts and Frisians and not least the poor Cathars of the Languedoc (Occitania). Follow on from there and we are going soon to reach Spains Catholics whiping out of indigeneous native religions in their ''New World'' along with Europes Catholic - v - Protestant Wars. The both brands of Christianity then get into burning ''Heretics'', and when they run out of ''Heretics'' they start on the ''Witches''.
However, do not think it is just the West/Europe that has an hold on to hypocracry, how often today are we told of Islam being the religion of peace, not quite true. Islam also for much of it's early centuries into the middle ages was as torn by warring religious factionalism between Sunni and Shi'ites (also see Ismailis and Whabis sects et al). The difference of course between West and East, is that within Islam the viciousness of European Religious Wars, is being still fought out today, with all the blind religious ferocity of the middle ages. Yes! I agree that the Anglo - American Invasion and occupation is wrong, and I am not stupid enough to not be aware that a bomb dropped from an Aero - Plane is indiscriminate as a ''Suiciders Bomb'', but still I really find the latter somewhat sickening. in those that perpetuate such slaughter do so, in belief they will go to paradise. I have not read the book 'ASSASSINS' yet, but have thumbed through it, I doubt if it will justfy the new assassins of the innocent slaughter they perpetuate. I/you may come to know a bit more about the religion and societies that resort to this from of warfare = ''Terrorism''. Yes! ''Yankees Go Home'' but I really fear for the future of the peoples of Iraq, not least the Kurds.
So that's an introduction to Religion and the state or powerful feudalist factions, but what of Religion in peoples war, check out on the web the following:
* Cathar War of Resistance, Languedoc. 1208 - 1240's.
* War of the Camisards, Languedoc. 1702 - 1715.
* War of Cunudos, Brazil. 1897.
* Native American Ghost Dance, Massacre of Wounded Knee 1890. This example is not truelly one of a people rising up in an armed struggle but a people whose last hope is in seeking deliverence via ''devine intervention''. There is however, no such thing and it is ''The End'' of America's long ''Indian wars''. Prior to this, and more successful for the oppressed, is Jamaica's ''Maroon War - Slave Rebellion''. An heroine of this peoples war was Nanny of the Maroons, an ''Obea Women' practitioner of Jamaican Black Folk Magic and Sorcery based on older African religious practises. There is much to indicate that the belief of 'Obea' allowed many of the Maroons to believe in the super natural powers of Nanny of the Maroons, that give to her the reputation of a great prowess that could overcome the British Army. Another good example of ''belief'' against bullets may be read of in the story of the Second Matebele War 1896 - 97 against the White Settlers in ''Rhodesia. This ''Chimurenga'' (Adfywiad?) Shona for struggle, also see the First Matebele War 1893, and do check out ''Chimurenga'' in Wikapedia ok! was led by a 60 yearl old ''spiritual leader'' by name of Mlimo. His ''Spiritaul Leadership'' no doubt inspired the Ndebele warriors, the Colonist forces finnaly were assured of victory when Mlimo was assinated in his cave - ''Sacred Temple''. A little known struggle but one worth reading, not least because Zimbabwe is currently in the news.
To conclude with return to Druidism and return to our ancient Celtic Religion, myself thinks, we cannot get enough of it. Especially, if it knocks into touch this ''Christian Pacifism'' that has perhaps kept us as much in chains as the castles. Perhaps, if the Welsh in the 19th century had spent more time throwing up barricades than bulding chapels, we would be a free people today? (Oh! that will get me in trouble?). Evan Roberts 1905 as a Mlimo, leading a ''Chimurenga'' (Adfywiad - Religious Resurgence), it's a thought! Too late now though?So, it's all down to 'DRUIDS AGAINST DEVOLUTION'.

But first the fun, note the following Celtic Fire Festivals:* Samhain 1 - 2 Tachwedd (Welcomes the Winter and Celtic New year).
* Imbolg 1 - 2 Chwefror (Welcomes the Celtic Spring).
* Beltain 1 - 2 Mai (Welcomes the Celtic Summer).
* Lughnasadha 1 - 2 Awst (Welcomes the Celtic Autumn).

If seeking ''Spiritual Solice''
Why not head for ''Angel Mountain'' (Mynydd Carn), seeking not the holy ''Phallic Mushroom'' but rather seek out the ''Singular Sacred'' Oak Tree, I have found one there, can you?

Hope above has been some ''light relief'' from the usual fayre, sincerly hope it has helped you ''jump out of the toy box'' and break out from the Cymric censored mind set (Grant Funded by the Saxon Shilling, since Eisteddfod of Caerwys at least). I consider that a good dash of the ''Esoteric & Occult'' (not the Black Magic, but the hidden) is no bad thing for Adfywiadwyr Gwladagarol'. Indeed I think I will dwell a bit more on the mysterious and magical, to see if by sorcery I can turn the ''White Chicken of Cilmeri'' back into the 'White Eagle of Cymric Resistance'. Keep eye out for future posting titled Cluck! Cluck! Cluck! Follow the trail of White Feathers......
