The Patriotic Front had arisen out of a small group of radical Southern Nationalists in an Anti - Sais Front, before becoming the National Patriotic Front to make it clear it was not their intention to remain on the Patriotic Fringe of Plaid Cymru but instead to be an Alternative National Movement and Struggle.
