Labour at CilmeriSIR – I am the person who has invited speakers to attend the Llywelyn Commemorations at Cilmeri each year since 1996.For those years it has been my aim to attract speakers from all political parties who have a patriotic interest in the future of Wales to address those with a similar interest. Over the years it has been my aim to attract everyone to the event and to make it more acceptable for everyone to attend.Members of the Liberal Party have faithfully attended for several decades and one year, members of the Conservative Party laid a wreath at the monument. One political party which, in spite of many years of invitations, were very slow in taking up the invitations was Plaid Cymru.In recent years, I have been very pleased to see more prominent members of Plaid Cymru starting to take part.However, one political party which for some strange reason is violently opposed to taking part is the Labour Party, who seem to oppose any patriotic interest in our country, or its history.Because this is a public place I have no right or power to oppose groups of people who wish to attend, because of their politics. I was on a train on the heart of Wales line the day that this happened. In my group was my wife, two young children and their eighty year old (proud Welsh speaking) Grandmother. A group of around thirty men boarded the train at Llanelli. during the journey they continued to drink and sing songs. We all enjoyed the trip and they got off at Cilmeri. We continued on to Shrewsbury. On the way home the same group boarded the train at Cilmery, some were weaaring balaclava, and quasi military style armbands. They were seriously intoxicated and aggressive. our group were the only other passengers in their carriage. We felt very intimidated, and at one point the train was stopped to allow us to get out one end, walk along the track to get to the the other cabin. BC has been and will remain so a very WECTU friendly body, if they are not very careful and I suggest have a review of a great deal concerning where they are at and where they are headig? 'The 18' need to be warned to get real or they will be used to tarnish much perhaps and very much to their own personal and BC disadvantage? However, they should not abandon the idea just because of this threat and because it now suits 'Rocks' to shaft them, just clean it up, get rid of the White Eagle Cross Armband and use Arms of Gwynedd instead, plus more Heradic flags on and around the Cenotaph facing outward, political banners should face inwards towards the cenotaph and thus not be so used for photo purposes to no good purpose as of late.
