Jasus H! the 'Betray Cymru' bunch did not have the wit or wisdom of a Patriotic Pretense of being a retreating 'Patriot Rearguard' as their heroes 'Cayo and Coslett' would. At least their 'Camp Abergwesyn' was not all fiasco and fun as it was made out to be, there was the epic retreat across the mountains to Tregaron with the Police in hot persuit but giving up. I missed the epic retreat but did witness dozens of coppers retreating in their 'Black Marias' out of Llanwrtyd Wells before myself spending an uncompfortable night sleeping in a small barn in the mountains Then a long tramp! tramp! tramp! over the Abergwesyn Pass to FWA H.Q. at Glandenys. Much is made of the FWA ineptness however, prior to the P.F. quiting 'Y Byddin' our PF/FWA Unit held 'unarmed mountain manoeuvers' on a number of occaisions, inc 'Urban Guerrialla Manoeuvers' in Cardiff as a mock Caernarfon. Although, this training was more to do with running around throwing Smoke Bombs also blown eggs filled with paint, I very much doubt if we would have really thrown spuds embedded with razor blades but marbles under horses hoofs was under serious consideration.
